I'm not a teen but here's my thoughts:
Modern society is a society that has to have faith proven to them....i.e. Lee Strobel's The Case for Christ, faith, etc. Modern people tend to be scientific in thinking...I don't believe it if I can't see it. Postmodern thought is heading back more towards the supernatural...not always in a good way. Post modern thinkers tend to want to use all the senses to experience something. Again this is just a very raw sketch of the two - postmodernizing the church is a tricky thing because a lot of postmodernization can lead to believing there are other ways to God and that's wrong...Christ is the only way! Myself, I can't claim either of these titles, neither of them quite fit me. As a whole though, whether your modern or postmodern really doesn't matter -the question is whether or not your effective in your ministry and the world sees you walking what your talking. It's a hard task but it's one that the Church is called to fill.

Sharon, Im not sure you have the full view of Post Modernity. That being said I think you pose a lot of questions/concerns that even myself as a post modern have. You make the comment that "post modernization can lead to believing there are other ways to God and that's wrong"... I have to disagree. Here is why. Post- Modernity is not a thing... Its a way of life.. or for some its merely a though process. The church can not be post modernized because it is a thing. Post Modernization is more changing methods and not message. Check the blog later... I will post more of my thoughts on this stuff.

Oh I agree...post-modernization is changing the method of the church...it has to, in order to reach the post-modern thinker. Modernity and post-modernity are both lifestyles because they invade the very thought process and being of humanity. I was simply trying to lay out some differences between the two. Many are scared of the title "post-modern" because it is seen as a "secret" home-church society or something like that...when the reality is post-modernity in many ways has already broken into what was once the modern church
