Teen Scene

1.    Teen Christmas Party

TONIGHT at 5:00 PM at the Petrusky's, 4342 Morning Dove Drive. Bring a wrapped white elephant gift, $3 for food and be prepared to have mucho fun!    


 

2.     CORE NEWS

Starting in January, CORE will be once a month, at 6:00 p.m. on the first Sunday of the month at the Petrusky's.


 

3.    District BLAST

    March 7-8 at the Findlay Church of the Nazarene. Early bird registration: by February 1, 2008. Guest speaker for Friday night will be Joel Penton, former OSU football player.

4.    Christmas Card Fundraiser

We will be sorting and distributing Christmas Cards today at Starr Elementary. Please see Pam Jordan for more details.

Teen Scene 9-9-07

1. CORE

Hey CORE type folks – tonight we are scheduled to meet at the Petrusky's (4342 Morning Dove Drive, Oregon) at 6:00 PM. There is also a meeting for the church to talk about the building campaign at the same time. Pastor Tipton said to let the CORE participants choose if they want to cancel CORE and attend the meeting or still have CORE. Unless Dave Tippett hears differently, he will plan on meeting at the Petrusky's at 6:00 PM.

Here are two cell groups that are now meeting every week:

Paintball Release Form

Michiana Christian Service Camp

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

READ CAREFULLY


In consideration of Michiana Christian Service Camp (M.C.S.C.) furnishing an outdoor environment to enable me to participate in paint ball games, I agree as follows:

I fully understand and acknowledge that; (a) risks and dangers exist in my participation and use of borrowed equipment in paint ball activities; (b) my participation in such activities may result in my injury or illness; including but not limited to; bodily injury, strains, fractures, partial and/or total paralysis, eye injury, blindness, heat stroke, heart attack, death or other ailments that could cause serious disability; (c) these risks and dangers may be caused by the negligence of the owners, employees, officers or agents of M.C.S.C., nearby land owners, equipment suppliers or distributors; the negligence of the participants, the negligence of others, accidents, breaches of contract, the forces of nature or other causes. These risks and dangers may arise from foreseeable or unforeseeable causes; and (d) by my participation in these activities and/or use of borrowed equipment, I hereby assume all risks and dangers and all responsibility for any losses and/or damages, whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence or other conduct of the owners, agents, officers, employees of M.C.S.C., or by any other person.

I, on behalf of myself, my personal representatives and my heirs, hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, defend and indemnify M.C.S.C. and it's owners, agents, officers and employees, suppliers, land owners, or equipment distributors from any and all claims, actions or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services or otherwise which may arise out of my use of paint ball equipment or my participation in paint ball activities, I specifically understand that I am releasing, discharging and waiving any claims or actions that I may have presently or in the future for the negligent acts or other conduct by the owners, agents, officers or employees of M.C.S.C.

I understand management or my group sponsors, by its sole discretion, may terminate my participation at any time if I fail to abide by the Rules, Terms and Conditions of Participation. Management or group sponsors also reserve the right to modify or cancel paint ball activities due to unfavorable weather conditions or technical difficulties.


I HAVE READ THE ABOVE WAIVER AND RELEASE AND BY SIGNING IT, AGREE IT IS MY INTENTION TO EXEMPT AND RELIEVE M.C.S.C. FROM LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR WRONGFUL DEATH CAUSED BY NEGLIGENCE OR ANY OTHER CAUSE.

Fall Retreat Stuff

Ok... so we are starting to work on Fall retreat we are going to a camp in Niles Michigan. There will be paintball. However this year unlike last there is a release form that you and your parents must sign (If you are under 18). Also if you are bringing your own gear please go to TC Paintball on Woodville Road in Northwood to get your supplies, they are helping us with rentals and stuff. I am posting the release form so you can download it.

Teen Scene week of 8-20

Youth Cookout
Friday, August 24, 6:30 p.m. Cookout at the Petrusky’s, 4342 Morning Dove Drive, Oregon. Food, fun, and swimming (bring towels, your one-piece suits, and $4 for food).

Pound Your Parents Night
This is your opportunity to pound on Dad without getting in trouble! Bring your parents to Eisenhower Middle School, 6-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 25. Cost is $10 per family (food included). Make sure you and your parents dress appropriately (athletic gear) as there will be competition between parents and offspring. This will be Tracy’s last event with the youth group.

Waal Family Celebration
Sunday, August 26, one service at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the Waal Family. If you/your family would like to make a cash donation to the Waal family, please bring it to the cookout/lock-in or Pound Your Parent. Also, each teen is asked to bring one dozen cookies, brownies, etc. for the celebration following the worship service.

Teen Scene

Pound your Parents

This is an opportunity to pound on Dad without getting in trouble.

Bring your aprents to Eisenhower Middle School from 6-10 pm on Saturday August 25.

This will be Tracy's Last youth group event.



Tracy's Last Sunday

Tracy Waal's last Sunday will be August 26. There will be no youth group that day as there will be only one service at 10:00 am. Following service there will be a reception for the entire Waal family. Youth are to bring a dozen cookies, a pan of brownies or another desert to share.



Cell Leader Training

If youve never been trained as a cell leader or you are looking to update your skills. This is your chance Rich Petrusky will be leading this training. at his house. The dates are set for Sunday August 19, and 26. Reply here and Ill send you the info you need to contact Rich asap if you want to participate.
